Verein Segantini Maloja

Is the cultural association responsible for maintaining the Segantini Atelier and promoting the legacy of Giovanni Segantini and his family.

Founded by friends and descendants of the Segantini family, the association ensures that this special place remains alive — not just preserved, but lived in.

What We Do

Through carefully curated exhibitions, in-depth historical research, publications, and intimate cultural events, the Verein Segantini Maloja works to keep the legacy of Giovanni Segantini alive — not only as a chapter in art history, but as a living source of reflection, inspiration, and connection.

The association maintains the Segantini Atelier with great dedication: from overseeing the seasonal conservation of the historic wooden structure, to developing exhibitions that give voice to personal stories, archival materials, and the unique light of the Alps that inspired three generations of Segantini artists.

We also collaborate with local and international museums, engage with contemporary artists, and support new scholarly work that revisits Segantini’s role in Symbolism, environmental thinking, and the Alpine identity of Switzerland.

Your support helps us do more — from preserving delicate original documents and photographs, to creating space for future artistic conversations. With each donation or membership, you help ensure that this intimate cultural site remains open, meaningful, and evolving — not a monument to the past, but a space where past and present meet in dialogue.

“The Segantini Atelier is not just a museum — it’s a memory in motion. Through the work of the Verein, it remains a living space of culture, light, and alpine spirit.”
